CONSTRUCTABILITY CONSULTING SERVICE

Eliminate Work Delays to Minimize Project Risk and Total Cost

What All is Included?

CONSTRUCTABILITY REVIEW FOR ANY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

The following services are covered under constructability review:

  • Inaccessible information/documents
  • Information conflicting with input
  • Issues related to operational clearance & accessibility
  • Access to maintenance
  • Affordability of hangers and support

The goal of a constructability evaluation is to conduct an in-depth investigation of the design from the standpoint of the contractors.

The constructability consultant evaluations performed by Collab Management examine project design and specify project components, construction processes, site layout and access, construction sequencing and timing, and other construction-related issues.

Our multidisciplinary team approach, which adheres to the Construction Industry Institute’s criteria, assists you in identifying significant issues that must be solved. Our in-depth research evaluates project designs from the standpoint of individuals who will be constructing them.

Participant feedback on achievable productivities and construction approaches is incorporated into our assisted workshops.

WHAT WE DO AND WHY WE DO IT?

It’s easy at Collab Management: we enjoy detailing and assisting with the engineering process. Builders, architects, and sub-consultants can be certain that only the best solutions are applied by working closely with engineers to develop compact packages of structural drawings.

We serve small to mid-sized engineering organisations with structural drafting. Our area of work includes everything from tiny home tasks to mid/high rise residential/commercial skyscrapers.

Participant feedback on achievable productivities and construction approaches is incorporated into our assisted workshops.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONSTRUCTABILITY

Construction companies use constructability as a project management tool. Ultimately, its goal is to maximize efficiency, eliminate waste, and finish construction projects on time or ahead of schedule by assessing the expertise and experience of consultants, contractors, architects, and designers.

THE THREE CONSTRUCTABILITY PRINCIPLES

Constructability can be defined as the examination and implementation of three fundamental aims and practises

  1. The greatest degree of ease with which a building’s design allows for construction while yet fulfilling building codes.

  1. During the design phase, the team integrates building knowledge to find the most effective way to construct while still meeting design requirements.

  1. Team integration of construction expertise throughout construction to ensure the least amount of environmental impact during development.

OUR VALUES

Accuracy

Getting it right the first time is crucial!

High-Quality

We do not compromise quality for haste. Our goal is to create work that only technical professionals would understand and appreciate.

Integrity at Work

We are here to assist you in meeting deadlines and doing everything it takes to complete the project.

THE THREE STAGES OF CONSTRUCTABILITY

Design Stage

  • Examine whether the construction design is realistic (between contractor, client, consultants, and architects/designers); architects can sometimes get carried away, and constructors know what is feasible or not.
  • Examine whether the design is cost-effective.
  • Examine whether the design will take longer to implement than the period allotted for the project.

Planning Stage

  • Examine which materials are required to finish the design and which are the most cost-effective while still meeting the design vision.
  • Examine which equipment is required for building and which can be skipped. exclude non-essential but luxurious construction equipment
  • Perform a cost/benefit analysis on equipment quantity demands (for example, will employing one tractor for several duties that take more time save more project money than investing in multiple tractors to do specific roles faster?)
  • Examine the intended site soil composition and its impact on the structure.

Building Stage

    • Examine how speedily the contractor is completing the work, whether it is on time or slipping behind.
    • Examine whether design objectives are satisfied Examine how building waste is managed
    • Check to see whether any unnecessary, non-essential equipment is being employed during site-building.

ARE YOU PREPARED TO INCORPORATE CONSTRUCTABILITY?

Remember how we said that 90% of contractors are still not using constructability in their project management? Take advantage of this. Projects that use constructability are more likely to finish on time and save money on average. The joint efforts of all parties involved, as well as improved communication and mutual agreement amongst all parties before proceeding each step of the route, increase efficiency.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Our Goal is to Make Your Construction Journey Easier

We serve as a resource for experienced advice throughout your construction adventure. We are here to provide transparency and context to assist you in identifying project-supporting solutions. The goal of this phase is to sketch out numerous scenarios so that the project gets off to a good start.

We understand the dangers of reviewing, planning or developing a big project. Our extensive research and full-scale site analysis assist in mitigating these risks and increasing trust in the project plan and outcomes.

WHAT CAN WE OFFER?

Advanced Expertise

Feasibility evaluations are available as a standalone service as well as part of Collab Management Group’s entire array of construction management services. Developing a robust management strategy and implementing it early in the project, in our experience, readily pays for itself in the huge savings gained throughout construction. An extensive feasibility study provides answers to problems and issues long before they arise during construction.

  • Plan and specification review
  • Identifying building conflicts
  • Assessing constraints
  • Analyzing the economic feasibility
  • Technical clarifications & addenda
  • Minimizing risks, changing orders, and filing claims
  • Defining and clarifying the scope of work

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Constructability review is a procedure used during project design to include construction expertise. There is a push in the industry to encourage early construction engagement in project planning.

  • Image outcome
  • Sections of the construction contract must be checked for accuracy.
  • The scope of the project.
  • Amount agreed upon.
  • Timetable for the project.
  • Contract documentation
  • Method of resolving disputes.
  • Termination for ease of use.
  • No consequence for the delay.

The building regulations specify strict standards for building design and construction. Building regulations permissions can be obtained through the local authority’s building control department or from an accredited inspector.

It is proposed that constructability reviews be conducted in five stages:

  • Structural
  • Building Envelope
  • Interior Architectural
  • MEP
  • Sitework.
